Loving God. Caring about you.
Our Worship
Jesus taught that we must worship the Father "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23-24). True worship is transformational. At Parkway, we have purposed to let the New Testament govern what we do and how we worship. These are the actions you will find us doing in our worship services:
- Praising God in Acapella Singing (Ephesians 5:19-20)
- Praying (1 Corinthians 14:15-16)
- Preaching & Teaching (Acts 20:7; 5:42)
- Encouraging one another (Hebrews 10:25)
- Observing Communion (Acts 20:7 & 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
- Giving as we have been prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-3)
All guests are invited to participate in our worship of God.
Our Core Beliefs
The Bible
The Bible
The Bible is manifestly the Word of God. It is inspired of God, complete, authoritative and understandable (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Corinthians 2:1-13). The New Testament was given by inspiration, written by men chosen for that purpose and preserved by God's providence. It is everlasting, complete, sufficient, and sets forth all that God wants men to know (John 14:25-26; 16:12-13; 2 Peter 1:3; 1 Peter 1:23-25).
The Christ
The Christ
Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life in the flesh, died as a sacrifice for every sinner, was raised up from the dead, ascended to the right hand of His Father in Heaven, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. He is now Lord and Christ and possesses a kingdom (Matthew 16:16; John 20:30-31; Acts 2:22-36; 1:9-11; Colossians 1:13).
The Church
The Church
The church of (belonging to) Christ was built by Christ (Matthew 16:18); established upon the foundation of His deity (1 Corinthians 3:10-11); purchased with His blood (Acts 20:28) and begun in the city of Jerusalem (Acts 2) for the salvation of lost men (Ephesians 5:23) and the glory of God (Ephesians 3:20-21).
Our Pulpit Minister
Matthew Smith
Matthew Smith
Since June 2020 I have been honored to serve as the pulpit minister here at the Parkway Church of Christ. At this congregation you will find a group of imperfect people who are striving to do their very best to serve a perfect Savior. Our goal at Parkway it to worship God the way He intended -- in spirit and in truth. Nothing more, nothing less. We would love for you to be a part of our church family. Please accept this as my personal invitation for you to come visit our assemblies. If you have any questions or if there is any way I can help you with your walk with Christ, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at preacher@parkwaychurchofchristfranklin.net.
